SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATIONS NEAR PORTLAND AND AUXVASSE RESULT IN FELONY THEFT ARRESTS

Whitney Sanford, 29, of Portland
Justin Beal, 32, of Mexico
Narrative:
On July 11, 2018, the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office investigated a stolen vehicle report in the 10000 block of State Highway 94 near Portland. Later on that date, Callaway County deputies and Fulton Police Department officers recovered the stolen vehicle at a residence in Fulton.
On July 16, 2018, as the result of a follow-up investigation, Callaway County deputies arrested Whitney Sanford, 29, of Portland for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle 1st. On July 17, 2018, the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney charged Sanford with the aforementioned offense. Sanford remains in the Callaway County Jail on a court-set $10,000.00 bond.
On July 9, the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office investigated a residential burglary offense in the 300 block of County Road 245 near Auxvasse.
On July 16, 2018, as the result of a follow-up investigation with the assistance of the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested Justin Beal, 32, of Mexico for Burglary 2nd. Beal was transported to the Callaway County Jail where he later posted a court-set $4,500.00 bond.
